Dan Hsieh oversees strategic planning and new growth opportunities for ION Media. He is responsible for identifying and evaluating operational enhancements, organic business development, and strategic transactions, including TV station, cable and digital acquisitions and partnerships. Hsieh has been instrumental in ION’s efforts in spectrum innovation, including multicast network deployment, direct-to-consumer technologies, and monetization of spectrum auctions. He has also been a key contributor to ION’s distribution strategy, which has resulted in industry-leading reach for the company.
Before joining ION, Hsieh served as president of MTC Services LLC and was a strategic advisor to leading media, technology and private equity firms, focusing on developing new content-related business. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Business Development, and Technology for The Walt Disney Company, and a partner at William Kent International, a management consulting firm that specialized in developing international strategies for multinationals.
Hsieh has an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the International Business Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma. He also holds a BS in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University, from which he graduated cum laude.
