David Christman serves as General Counsel for ION Media. In this role, he oversees the company’s Legal, Compliance and Risk Management functions.
Prior to joining ION Media, Christman served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Time Warner Cable (a predecessor company to Charter Communications), where he was responsible for all corporate law matters, including M&A and financing transactions, commercial deals, public reporting and board operations. Christman joined Time Warner Cable in 1998 as a Content Licensing Lawyer and held various titles prior to becoming Deputy General Counsel in 2006. Earlier in his career, Christman served as an Associate with Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton, working in the firm’s New York and London offices, and advising clients on M&A and securities laws matters.
Christman earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from New York University School of Law, and holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in English from New York University. He is the author of a number of law review and other articles on legal topics.
