The Applications Web Developer is responsible for providing strategic technology architecture recommendations in developing websites for all ION Media brands. In this role, the individual will create new interactive tools, including web-based, mobile and social, in an effort to engage consumers, drive traffic and promote ION’s on-air offerings.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide strategic technology and architecture recommendations in developing websites for all ION Media brands;
  • Create new interactive tools (web-based, mobile, social media) to engage consumers and promote our on-air offerings

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in web application development;
  • Advanced knowledge of PHP and javascript programming;
  • Must have past development experience with the Laravel framework (version 5 or higher);
  • Must have experience building applications with the VueJS framework (or experience with React might suffice);
  • Experience with database query languages MSSQL, MySQL;
  • Experience using Version Control Systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub);
  • Understanding of NPM and Composer asset management processes;
  • Experience working with frontend automated build tools (Webpack, Gulp);
  • A deep knowledge of HTML, jQuery, CSS3, SCSS/SASS;
  • A working knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration;
  • Advanced knowledge of Mac and PC operating systems;
  • Knowledge of project management, development methodologies and best practices;
  • Experience writing and performing unit and functionality tests for both client side and server side code a plus;
  • Good to have Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Products (specifically Photoshop & Illustrator);
  • An understanding of video compression technologies and social media integration would also be beneficial

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of extensive web development;
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or significant equivalent experience;
  • Managed the successful launch of multiple high-traffic websites, sweepstakes and microsites;
  • Must have strong communications skills, both verbal and written;
  • Extremely detail-oriented, experience QC’ing large-scale projects;
  • Experience translating requirements into cross-browser compatible, expandable web or mobile applications;
  • Familiarity with social media websites; (Any development experience related to these is a plus);

The VP, Station Legal is responsible for driving day-to-day legal functions related to broadcast tower space licensing, real estate leases, and vendor agreements with various broadcast and telecommunications hardware, software, and service suppliers. This will include negotiation of new agreements and administration of existing agreements. The successful candidate will also be expected to help resolve roadblocks in negotiations and to ensure the due diligence for various agreements is done in a timely manner and within parameters set by ION executive management.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Drafting and negotiation of commercial real estate and contract documents, including but not limited to, Tower Leases, Studio Leases, License Agreements, Service Agreements, and Purchase Agreements;
  • Oversee required real estate due diligence ensuring timely closings on all transactions;
  • Partner with ION Station Operations and ION executive management personnel on negotiations with landowners and facility owners;
  • Provide legal analysis and guidance to other functional groups regarding Station Operations;
  • Provide detailed analysis and guidance to litigation appropriate departments on any matters that result from disputes regarding tower and real estate leases or other licenses and agreements;
  • Analyze proposed legislation, regulation or interpretation of law that affects ION Station Operations

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Juris Doctorate Degree with license to practice law in any state required;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience required; real estate law or commercial transactions strongly preferred; tower or broadcast industry preferred but not required;
  • Demonstrated understanding of current law and policy as it relates to telecommunications and real estate law;
  • Understanding of transactional real estate law and licensing in telecom/broadcast leasing context;
  • Ability to utilize knowledge of the business, economic conditions, and current regulations to successfully negotiate terms and contracts;
  • Solid attention to detail in the preparation and review of contracts and agreements with excellent legal drafting skills;

The Chief Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day technical and business operations of one of the ION Media Station Group locations. REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Current college/university junior or senior majoring in motion design, 3D modeling/animation or related major;
  • Must be able to receive college/university credit;
  • Mac-proficient;
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects) and 3D graphics software;
  • Strong understanding of 3D animation fundamentals, principles, and techniques;

The Information Security Leader is responsible for managing and mentoring staff, developing internal policies and procedures, and will be key in driving security operations, analysis, and intelligence functions for ION. This role will be challenged with minimizing ION’s overall information security risks and providing easily understood metrics that help identify areas of improvement. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

You will be leading the effort, with the help of other IT managers, to:

  • Initiate, facilitate and promote activities to create information security awareness;
  • Develop and own assessment tools that are easy to use and apply industry best practices to highlight key risks;
  • Provide support and advisory to technology leads and oversee assessment efforts to ensure responsible risk management;
  • Identify security technologies needed to protect the company's information assets from emerging threats;
  • Remain abreast, assess needs and establish plans to stay prepared for ever-changing security threats, malware and other cyber security attack methods;
  • Integrate risk management processes into our existing business operations;
  • Develop strong and collaborative cross-functional relationships throughout the business to further ION’s security strategy and reduce overall risk

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline required;
  • 5+ years in information security required;
  • Relevant certification(s) in information security;
  • In-depth experience and knowledge of information systems architecture, security controls, and regulatory standards required;
  • Ability to make quick judgment calls and prioritize tasks under high pressure;
  • An in-depth knowledge and demonstrated expertise creating security assessment tools, producing reports on organizational security status, and developing company risk prevention frameworks
