The Staff Accountant, Leases is responsible for reporting to the VP, Controller, and will lead the accounting over leases and related financial report preparation process as well as be a hands-on member of the accounting team. This role will be able to support management while assisting in the day-to-day accounting functions. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Review lease contracts for proper accounting treatment;
  • Maintenance of lease schedules for financial reporting;
  • Responsible for prepaid assets and all electric and rent/CAM accruals;
  • Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries over areas of responsibility on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations over areas of responsibility;
  • Reviews A/P batches for leases to ensure coding is accurate;
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and disclosures in areas of responsibility;
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s accounting policies and procedures;
  • Assist in the development and documentation of applicable policies and procedures;
  • Research and respond to inquiries pertaining to corporate accounting matters;
  • Work with other departments to gather any information as deemed necessary for accounting matters

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience;
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience;
  • Knowledge of lease accounting preferred;
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and organizational skills;
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Experience working with GL systems, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required

The Chief Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day technical and business operations of the Raleigh, NC, station. RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage and maintain all broadcast equipment/systems responsible for daily on-air operation of the station. Use of RF engineering knowledge to maintain and repair all technical equipment in studio and transmitter facilities, satellite downlink/uplink, and microwave transmission systems;
  • Manage and maintain all ancillary systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical;
  • Exercise knowledge of FCC rules and regulations to protect the entity’s license;
  • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise;

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or a related field and/or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering. Bachelor’s degree is preferred;
  • Broadcast Engineering Certification, i.e. FCC license, Society of Broadcast Engineer (SBE) certification would be a plus;
  • High proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Strong time management skills in meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail;

The Station Monitoring Technician is responsible for monitoring, reporting and ensuring the on-air product of the station group. RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitor, control and report to the operability of station’s master control and transmitter operations;
  • Monitor and report station outages;
  • Work together with Chief Broadcast Engineer in daily operation of studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery;
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot television transmitter and facility issues with Chief Broadcast Engineer;
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to maintain systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical;
  • Assist legal and corporate in the maintenance of the station public file in accordance with FCC requirements. Track and confirm FCC online station files;
  • At the direction of the Chief Broadcast Engineer:
    • Liaise for all cable, DBS, and Telco operators within market;
    • Operate, log and maintain EAS tests and equipment;
    • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise;
    • Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to engineering support for further diagnosis;

  • Additional coursework and in-house training is required to advance to a Station Engineer;

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience in broadcast station operations, engineering or related industry;
  • Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery;
  • Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines;

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee Network Operations engineering and monitoring

  • 8+ years of managerial experience, to include performance management, career management and employee relations; solid experience overseeing (indirect reporting relationships) teams consisting of 20+ regular full-time staff
  • Understanding of video system flows, encoding, digital storage systems, automation systems, graphic systems, editing systems, signal flows, video and audio test equipment, technical specifications for video and audio in SDI, HD and ASI; media management and satellite transmission and distribution
  • Knowledge of television production, editing, engineering, satellite transmission and distribution systems required
  • Solid ability to balance production needs with operational capabilities, and to provide solutions that address and balance both wherever applicable
