The Director of Technical Support leads a client facing team supporting the essential information technology services used by all employees. The team specializes in supporting technologies in a Windows and Citrix based environment, guiding employees in the use of those technologies during the employee lifecycle. This role will be challenged with providing consistency, finding efficiencies, and reducing complexity, all while avoiding unnecessary inconveniences to employees.                                                                                                                                                       

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be leading the effort, with the help of other IT managers, to:

  • Establish and enforce IT standards, procedures and policies
  • Create and maintain documentation of all client facing IT operations and systems
  • Design, develop, and implement client-focused training programs that create awareness and enable employees to make the most of the information technology tools available to them
  • Provide future-thinking, client-focused perspectives for all information technology solutions
  • Communicate technical solutions and changes to non-technical audiences

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related discipline required

RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor, control and report to the operability of station’s master control and transmitter operations;
  • Monitor and report station outages;
  • Work together with Chief Broadcast Engineer in daily operation of studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery;
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot television transmitter and facility issues with Chief Broadcast Engineer

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering.
  • Knowledge and ability to re-establish connectivity with transmitter
  • Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery
  • Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

The Station Operations is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day operations of the ION Station Group.  ION does not have any local production.  We are searching for a detail-oriented and dynamic leader with the requisite management skills and business acumen to apply the rigor required in a changing media landscape. The ideal candidate would partner with major third party partners in successful lease negotiations for towers as well as broadcast studios, understand ROI, manage costs and improve processes. The position would lead a team of over 120 across the country including broadcast and transmitter engineers.  The ideal candidate would have the ability to bridge the technical and business with emphasis on the business.
This hands-on individual will direct, manage, develop and mentor the team to ensure their managerial and operational skills support and facilitate an open, collaborative and high performance environment, and lead the team in successfully developing and implementing a talent strategy to meet current and future business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships across the organization, lead and manage groups through change and growth, and develop and manage a diverse workforce
  • Strong business rigor to manage process change, manage operating and capital budgets

  • Knowledge of television engineering, and distribution systems preferred

  • Must have a track record of success working in a fast-paced environment which requires a hands-on work ethic
  • Direct, manage, develop and mentor the station team to ensure their managerial and operational skills support and facilitate an open, collaborative and high performance environment; lead the team in successfully developing and implementing a talent strategy with management rigor to meet current and future business needs
  • Oversee and manage all compliance requirements at stations
  • Prepare and maintain operational budget, forecasts, plans and reports.
  • Develop and manage capital budgets and justifications; partner with Finance to develop budgets, track costs, and provide pre-estimates and post-estimates as requested
  • Manage lease negotiations (i.e. real estate, towers, microwaves STL’s).  
  • Work closely with other departments (Station Support) to provide ongoing dash boards on individual station performance and operating metrics.
  • Responsible for the management and/or development of all Station Operating Procedures, internal station website, station dashboards and other tools
  • Key team member in the Post Spectrum Re-pack Project
  • Understanding of FCC regulations is a plus 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business and/or related technical discipline required
  • Master’s degree a plus but not required
  • 10 years’ experience of television management and with current knowledge of broadcast models
  • 8+ years of experience managing/overseeing (indirect reporting relationships) teams consisting of 20+ regular full-time staff
