The Content Coordinator is responsible for managing and distributing all incoming programming content and collateral materials, as well as organizing and maintaining the storage environment for the Content department, along with completing departmental projects as assigned.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage edit-storage environment to ensure all assets are accounted for and in the appropriate locations;
  • Manage organization of file structures to match standards and support effective workflow;
  • Download content files delivered by programming distributors and enter metadata in Content database system;
  • Track media asset workflow throughout departmental processes;
  • Download, catalog and distribute collateral programming materials;
  • Package and prepare files to be sent out to third party services;
  • Create screeners of content for executive approval;
  • Additional Content departmental projects as needed

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree, Mass Communication/Broadcasting preferred;
  • 0-3 years’ experience in media preferred;
  • Experience with content/media management systems and metadata management, their uses and workflows within media organizations, a plus;
  • Knowledge of digital file formats;
  • Familiarity with Avid Interplay a plus;
  • Experience in reading and understanding Tektronix scopes in relation to acceptable Broadcast Video/Gamut and Audio loudness levels;
  • Ability to learn new software and systems and quickly adapt;
  • Ability to understand and articulate highly technical concepts and requirements to a variety of audiences;
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized and thorough;

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Station Monitoring Technician is responsible for monitoring, reporting and ensuring the on-air product of the station group. When necessary, troubleshooting and resolving broadcast systems issues is required. RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Actively monitor multiple video streams and data streams to ensure stations are broadcasting quality video and audio
  • Periodically verify audio is present and coherent for our audience
  • Quickly troubleshoot station issues as they occur, applying backup configurations to reduce station downtime
  • Communicate with local station staff in a clear, precise manner regarding issues

  • Generate and maintain trouble tickets in an issue management system to create complex reports for various corporate department

  • Communicate and coordinate with multiple station, regional, and engineering staff regarding complex projects such as engineering systems upgrades or preventive outage preparations

  • Ability to analyze current systems for improvement
  • Ability to perform broad LAN, WAN and fiber circuit analysis

The Station Technician is responsible for assisting the Chief Broadcast Engineer with the day-to-day technical and business operations of an ION Station. This hands-on individual will have the day-to-day responsibilities for monitoring, controlling and reporting the operability of the station’s master control and transmitter operations as well as have the opportunity to work closely with the Chief Broadcast Engineer in the maintenance of the studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery equipment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitor, control and report to the operability of station’s master control and transmitter operations;
  • Monitor and report station outages;
  • Work together with Chief Broadcast Engineer in daily operation of studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery;
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to troubleshoot television transmitter and facility issues with Chief Broadcast Engineer;
  • Develop the skills and knowledge to maintain systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical;
  • Assist legal and corporate in the maintenance of the station public file in accordance with FCC requirements. Track and confirm FCC online station files;
  • At the direction of the Chief Broadcast Engineer:
    • Liaise for all cable, DBS, and Telco operators within market;
    • Operate, log and maintain EAS tests and equipment;
    • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise;
    • Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to engineering support for further diagnosis; 
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including corporate guidelines and best practices;
  • May be responsible for certain administrative duties related to business and operation transactions;
  • Additional coursework and in-house training is required to advance to a Station Engineer;
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience in broadcast station operations, engineering or related industry;
  • Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery;
  • Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines;
  • Must be physically able to bend, lift and carry up to a maximum of 35lbs., as well as climb on step-stools, ladders and other necessary equipment;

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Oversee Network Operations engineering and monitoring
  • Lead engineering support proactively to identify current/future needs, and oversee collaborations between Operations & Engineering to develop/implement effective solutions

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 10+ years of television operations management experience
  • 8+ years of managerial experience, to include performance management, career management and employee relations; solid experience overseeing (indirect reporting relationships) teams consisting of 20+ regular full-time staff
  • Understanding of video system flows, encoding, digital storage systems, automation systems, graphic systems, editing systems, signal flows, video and audio test equipment, technical specifications for video and audio in SDI, HD and ASI; media management and satellite transmission and distribution
  • Knowledge of television production, editing, engineering, satellite transmission and distribution systems required
  • Solid ability to balance production needs with operational capabilities, and to provide solutions that address and balance both wherever applicable

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering.
  • Knowledge and ability to re-establish connectivity with transmitter
