OVERVIEW:

The Account Executive, Direct Response is responsible for selling direct response air time for ION Television, and achieving quarterly and annual revenue goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Increase rates, activity, and share of business of assigned agency list to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals
  • Establish and maintain strong relations with all short-form agencies, direct accounts and clients
  • Manage agency and client needs by managing inventory and schedules and assuring agency media needs and client marketing objectives are met
  • Develop new business, and grow existing business at agency and client direct level
  • Develop and execute quarterly and annual business plans related to account growth and development to achieve revenue goals
  • Communicate and position ION Television assets, audience and distribution growth, and program acquisitions to all clients on a regular basis
  • Maintain a thorough and extensive market knowledge including direct response category and industry trends, and competitive capabilities and distribution-reach trends

REQUIREMENTS:

OVERVIEW:

The Station Engineer is responsible for working together with the Chief Broadcast Engineer on the day-to-day technical and business operations of an ION Station. This hands-on individual will have the day-to-day responsibilities for monitoring, controlling and reporting the operability of the station’s central cast rack and transmitter operations, as well as have the opportunity to work closely with the Chief Broadcast Engineer in the maintenance of the studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery equipment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Monitor, control and report to the operability of station’s central cast rack and transmitter operations
  • Monitor and report station outages
  • Work together with Chief Broadcast Engineer in daily operation of studio, transmitter, and distribution delivery
  • Troubleshoot television transmitter and facility issues with Chief Broadcast Engineer
  • Maintain systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical
  • Partner with legal and corporate in the maintenance of the station public file in accordance with FCC requirements; Track and confirm FCC online station files
  • At the direction of the Chief Broadcast Engineer:
    • Liaise for all cable, DBS, and Telco operators within market
    • Operate, log and maintain EAS tests and equipment
    • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise
    • Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to engineering support for further diagnosis
  • May be responsible for certain administrative duties related to business and operation transactions
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures including corporate guidelines and best practices

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree in engineering (electrical or electronic) or a related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in broadcast engineering; bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery
  • Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines

OVERVIEW:

The Chief Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day technical and business operations of one of an ION Media station group location. This hands-on individual will manage and maintain all broadcast equipment and systems used in the daily operation of the station as well as any ancillary systems used in the support and troubleshooting of technical issues as they arise. The Chief Broadcast Engineer will also work closely with the Station Engineer/Technician in developing an understanding of the administrative needs of the station should the need arise for coverage. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manage and maintain all broadcast equipment/systems responsible for daily on-air operation of the station; Use of RF engineering knowledge to maintain and repair all technical equipment in studio and transmitter facilities, satellite downlink/uplink, and microwave transmission systems
  • Manage and maintain all ancillary systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical
  • Exercise knowledge of FCC rules and regulations to protect the entity’s license
  • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise
  • Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to Engineering Support for further diagnosis

    • Liaise for all cable, DBS, and Telco operators within market
    • Operate, log and maintain EAS tests and equipment
    • Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Degree in engineering (electrical or electronic) or a related field and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in broadcast engineering; bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Comfort and willingness to learn, implement, and operate new technology related to broadcasting and content delivery
  • Strong proficiency with computers to include Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Must be physically able to bend, lift and carry up to a maximum of 35 lbs., as well as climb on step-stools, ladders and other necessary equipment
  • Ability and willingness to travel to transmitter sites and travel throughout the region on an as needed basis

OVERVIEW:

The Chief Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the leadership and management of all day-to-day technical and business operations of one of the ION Media Station Group location. This hands-on individual will manage and maintain all broadcast equipment and systems used in the daily operation of the station as well as any ancillary systems used in the support and troubleshooting of technical issues as they arise.  The Chief Broadcast Engineer will also work closely with the Station Engineer/Technician in developing an understanding of the administrative needs of the station should the need arise for coverage.
